About the Role
Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria's premier higher institution, is seeking a dedicated and qualified Lecturer III to join the Department of Book Publishing within the School of Arts, Design and Printing. As an integral member of our academic community, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality instruction, fostering research excellence, and preparing the next generation of professionals in technology, applied science, and the arts.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students in Book Publishing and related courses.
- Develop and update curriculum materials, course outlines, and instructional resources aligned with industry standards and institutional goals.
- Conduct high-quality research, publish scholarly articles, and present papers at academic conferences and seminars.
- Supervise student projects, research assignments, and industrial training placements to ensure comprehensive practical learning.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committee works, accreditation exercises, and overall administrative duties as assigned by the institution.
- Mentor and advise students on academic performance, professional growth, and career opportunities within the publishing and creative industries.
- Possess a Master’s degree in Book Publishing or a closely related relevant discipline, alongside at least two (2) published conference or seminar papers.
- Alternatively, hold a good Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division in a relevant discipline, supported by at least three (3) years of teaching, research, or relevant industrial experience, plus two (2) conference or seminar papers.
- Serving Assistant Lecturers with a minimum of three (3) years of satisfactory service and at least two (2) presented conference or seminar papers are also eligible to apply.
- Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal, and digital literacy skills applicable to modern academic environments.
