About the Role
Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria's premier higher institution and a leading center for academic and entrepreneurial excellence, is currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated professional to join our academic community. We are looking for a Lecturer III in Crop Production Technology within the School of Agricultural Technology to deliver high-quality instruction, conduct impactful research, and contribute to the holistic development of our students in Lagos, Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Crop Production Technology for National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students.
- Develop and update curriculum materials, lesson plans, and laboratory manuals in line with current agricultural standards and industry needs.
- Supervise student research projects, industrial attachments, and practical fieldwork activities.
- Conduct cutting-edge research in crop production, agronomy, and related agricultural sciences, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Present academic papers at relevant conferences, seminars, and workshops to represent the institution.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committee works, accreditation exercises, and community service initiatives.
- Provide academic advising, career guidance, and mentorship to students to foster holistic growth.
- Master’s degree in Crop Production Technology or a directly relevant agricultural discipline, accompanied by at least two (2) conference or seminar papers.
- Alternatively, a good Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second-Class Lower Division in a relevant discipline, backed by at least three (3) years of teaching, research, or relevant industrial experience, plus two (2) conference or seminar papers.
- Serving Assistant Lecturers who have completed at least three (3) years of satisfactory service and presented two (2) conference or seminar papers are also eligible to apply.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills suited for a tertiary academic environment.
