About the Role
Federal University Lafia was established in February 2011 with the mandate to increase access and quality of university education in Nigeria. Located in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, the institution currently operates a College of Medicine, a Centre for Continuing Education, and eight faculties offering diverse undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We are currently inviting applications from suitably qualified academics to fill the position of Lecturer II in the Department of Vocational and Technical Education.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Vocational and Technical Education.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Supervise undergraduate student projects, dissertations, and academic research activities.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, and faculty committees as assigned.
- Provide mentorship, academic advising, and career guidance to students.
- Engage in community service and institutional development initiatives on behalf of the university.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Vocational and Technical Education or a closely related relevant field from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Alternatively, candidates with a Master's degree plus at least two (2) peer-reviewed journal publications and a minimum of three (3) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience at the university level may apply.
