The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a premier federal university committed to academic excellence and groundbreaking research, is seeking a qualified and passionate academic professional to join our esteemed Department of Engineering. We are currently looking for a dedicated Lecturer II in Structural Engineering to contribute to our vibrant teaching, mentoring, and research environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Structural Engineering and related civil engineering courses.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable academic journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the enhancement of laboratory and practical training facilities.
- Engage in community service and industry partnerships that promote the advancement of engineering practices in Nigeria.
- Must possess a PhD or a Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related field.
- Candidates with a Master's degree must have a minimum of three (3) years of teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution, alongside at least three (3) peer-reviewed publications.
- A first degree (Bachelor's) with a minimum classification of Second-Class Upper Division. Candidates with a Second-Class Lower Division are eligible only if they possess a PhD.
