About the Role
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Nigeria's premier higher institution renowned for academic distinction and entrepreneurial development, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated professional to join our academic community as a Lecturer II in the Department of Statistics under the School of Science. Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Lecturer II in Statistics, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lectures, conducting tutorials, and assessing students across National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes. Your core duties will include:
- Teaching undergraduate statistics courses and supervising student projects
- Developing curriculum content and innovative teaching methodologies aligned with modern industry standards
- Conducting high-quality academic research and publishing findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals
- Participating in departmental, school, and college-wide committees as well as community service initiatives
- Mentoring students and providing academic guidance to foster their professional growth
Candidates must meet one of the following academic and professional criteria:
- A Doctorate degree in Statistics or a closely related relevant discipline, accompanied by at least three (3) conference or seminar papers and three (3) published journal articles
- A Master’s degree in Statistics or a relevant discipline, complemented by a minimum of three (3) years of teaching, research, or relevant industrial experience, along with three (3) conference papers and three (3) published journal articles
- Serving Lecturer III personnel holding a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of three (3) years of satisfactory service, backed by two (2) conference papers and two (2) published journal articles
