About the Role
Millie's British International School (MBIS) in Ibadan is seeking experienced, capable, and passionate Associate Teachers to join our dynamic primary teaching team. We pride ourselves on building a strong educational foundation for every child by following the British Early Years Foundation Stage and primary frameworks, encouraging our pupils to become confident, successful, lifelong learners. In this role, you will bring your existing classroom competence and subject knowledge to help students thrive academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and prepare purposeful, engaging lessons following agreed curriculum sequences and lesson plans.
- Teach effectively rather than simply presenting information, ensuring clear and accurate concept explanation.
- Utilize effective questioning techniques and model work clearly using the board and appropriate educational resources.
- Maintain positive classroom routines, excellent behavior management, and high levels of pupil engagement.
- Mark student work consistently and provide constructive, actionable feedback to drive academic progress.
- Manage instructional time effectively and prepare independently to arrive ready to teach.
- Receive professional feedback positively, implement recommendations, and work reliably with minimal supervision.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education or a PGDE with at least three years of relevant primary classroom teaching experience.
- Secure knowledge of the core primary curriculum, particularly English, Mathematics, and Science.
- Strong spoken and written English proficiency alongside clear, legible handwriting.
- Demonstrated classroom organization, time management, and behavior-management skills.
- Good computer literacy for modern administrative and instructional tasks.
- Must be based in Ibadan or able to reliably commute to our campus off Jericho, Ibadan (accommodation and relocation are not provided).
