About the Role
Federal University Lafia invites dynamic and suitably qualified academics to apply for the position of Lecturer II in Special Needs and Rehabilitation Education. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality university education and fostering impactful research. As a Lecturer II, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging instruction, mentoring students, and advancing research initiatives within our expanding academic community in Nasarawa State.
Key Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Special Needs and Rehabilitation Education.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects and dissertations.
- Conduct high-quality, peer-reviewed research and publish in reputable academic journals.
- Participate in curriculum development and continuous review of academic programmes.
- Provide academic advising, student counseling, and mentorship.
- Engage in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties and committees.
- Contribute to community service initiatives related to special needs advocacy and inclusive education.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Special Needs Education, Rehabilitation Education, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree in a relevant field plus a minimum of two (2) journal publications.
- At least three (3) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience at the university level.
- Demonstrated ability to write grant proposals and attract research funding is an added advantage.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and digital literacy skills for modern pedagogical delivery.
