The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a qualified and passionate academic professional to join our Department of Life Science as a Lecturer II in Plant Biology and Biotechnology. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Plant Biology and Biotechnology.
- Develop and update course materials in alignment with contemporary academic standards and National Universities Commission (NUC) guidelines.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conduct original research, publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to the academic reputation of the university.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university committee meetings as well as community service initiatives.
- Mentor students and provide academic advising to support their personal and professional development.
- A Ph.D. or Master degree in Plant Biology, Biotechnology, or a closely related field.
- For Master degree holders, a minimum of three (3) years of relevant teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution is required, along with a minimum of 3 peer-reviewed publications.
- A First Degree with a minimum of Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division with a Ph.D.
