About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is a prestigious federal university known for academic excellence and impactful research. We are currently seeking a dynamic and qualified professional to join our Department of Petroleum Engineering as a Lecturer II. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the next generation of engineers by delivering high-quality instruction, conducting cutting-edge research, and participating in departmental service within a vibrant academic community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Petroleum Engineering courses.
- Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and industrial training programs.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish findings in peer-reviewed national and international journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, and academic committee assignments.
- Mentor students and provide academic guidance to foster their professional growth.
- Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives.
- Possession of a First Degree with a minimum of a Second Class Upper Division in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
- Alternatively, a Second Class Lower Division First Degree coupled with a PhD in Petroleum Engineering.
- Must hold a PhD or Master's degree with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant teaching and research experience.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed academic publications in reputable journals.
- Demonstrated ability to teach, inspire, and mentor university students.
- Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
