About the Role
Federal University Lafia, a vibrant and rapidly growing institution established in 2011, is dedicated to expanding access to quality higher education in Nigeria. Located in the heart of Nasarawa State, the university boasts diverse academic programmes across multiple faculties and is committed to fostering academic excellence, innovation, and community development. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Lecturer II to join our Department of Nutrition and Dietetics to shape the minds of future healthcare and nutrition professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Develop and update curriculum materials, course outlines, and innovative teaching methodologies aligned with national and global standards.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, internships, and field placements.
- Conduct high-impact research, publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to the academic reputation of the university.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings, as well as student mentoring and academic advising.
- Engage in community outreach programmes focused on public health, nutrition education, and food security in Nigeria.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a closely related relevant field from a recognized and accredited institution; OR
- A Master's degree in a relevant field plus a minimum of two (2) journal publications in reputable academic outlets.
- At least three (3) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience at the University level.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and secure research grants is an added advantage.
