About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal university founded in 1970, is looking for a qualified and dynamic Lecturer II in Microbiology to join our vibrant Department of Life Science. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Microbiology.
- Conduct high-quality, impactful research and publish findings in peer-reviewed national and international journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects and academic theses.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, and university committee assignments.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students within the Department of Life Science.
- Contribute to community service initiatives and institutional advancement programs on behalf of the university.
- A Ph.D. in Microbiology or a closely related field, OR a Master's degree plus a minimum of three (3) years of relevant teaching experience in a tertiary institution.
- Must possess a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed academic publications in reputable journals.
- A First Degree (B.Sc.) in Microbiology or a relevant discipline with not below a Second-Class Upper Division.
- Candidates with a Second-Class Lower Division First Degree must possess a Ph.D. to be eligible.
