The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a dedicated and qualified academic professional to fill the position of Lecturer II within the Department of Metallurgical and Material Engineering. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions in Metallurgical and Material Engineering.
- Develop and update course curricula in line with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards and modern industry practices.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, research dissertations, and academic fieldworks.
- Conduct high-impact research, publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals, and secure research grants.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, administrative duties, and community service initiatives.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
- Possess a First Degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division in Metallurgical and Material Engineering or a related discipline.
- Alternatively, possess a First Degree with a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a PhD.
- Hold a PhD or a Master's degree with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant teaching experience in a tertiary institution.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed academic publications in reputable local or international journals.
