About the Role
Federal University Lafia, a vibrant and rapidly growing institution established in 2011, is dedicated to expanding access to quality higher education in Nigeria. We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated professional to join our Department of Medical Laboratory Science as a Lecturer II.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Medical Laboratory Science.
- Develop and update course curricula, teaching materials, and assessment methods in line with regulatory and university standards.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, student laboratory work, and clinical or academic attachments.
- Conduct high-impact research, publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to the academic reputation of the university.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, meetings, and academic administration tasks.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students to foster their professional growth.
- Engage in community outreach and professional development initiatives that align with the mission of Federal University Lafia.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a highly relevant field from a recognized and accredited institution; OR
- A Master's degree in a relevant discipline plus a minimum of two (2) peer-reviewed journal publications.
- At least three (3) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience at a recognized university level.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and publish in scholarly journals.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills suited for academic environments.
- Registration with the relevant professional regulatory body, such as the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN), where applicable.
