About the Role

We are currently seeking a qualified and dynamic Lecturer II to join our Department of Communication and Media Studies. In this academic role, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate instruction, supervise student research projects, and actively participate in departmental activities that advance our standing as a leading center for media education in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training in various areas of Mass Communication and Media Studies.
  • Design, update, and evaluate course curricula in alignment with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards and modern media industry trends.
  • Conduct high-impact academic research and publish findings in reputable, peer-reviewed local and international journals.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, dissertations, and academic fieldworks.
  • Assess student performance through continuous evaluations, examinations, and constructive feedback.
  • Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a First Degree with a minimum of Second-Class Upper Division in Mass Communication or a related discipline, OR a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a PhD.
  • Must hold a PhD or a Master's degree in Mass Communication or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
  • A proven track record of at least three (3) peer-reviewed publications in recognized academic journals.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in modern digital teaching methodologies and media production software is an added advantage.
