About the Role

We are currently inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Lecturer II in the Department of Library and Information Science. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training in Library and Information Science to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Conduct high-quality research and publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals.
  • Supervise undergraduate student research projects and provide academic mentoring and counseling.
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties as assigned.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the enhancement of departmental teaching resources.
  • Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives aligned with the university core values.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a PhD in Library and Information Science from a recognized and accredited university, OR a Master degree with at least 2 years of teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 4 academic publications in reputable journals.
  • For internal or transitioning candidates, a minimum of 2 years of service as an Assistant Lecturer is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in modern library technologies, information management systems, and digital curation.
  • Strong commitment to upholding Islamic moral and ethical values alongside high academic standards.
