About the Role
Fountain University, established in 2008 by the Nasrul-Lahi-Il-Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT), is dedicated to fostering academic excellence alongside strong Islamic moral and ethical values. We are currently inviting applications from suitably qualified, dynamic, and experienced academics to fill the position of Lecturer I in our Department of Microbiology. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of future scientists within an enabling and value-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Microbiology in accordance with university curriculum standards.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conduct high-quality, impactful research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, college, and university-wide academic and administrative committees.
- Provide academic counseling, mentoring, and guidance to students to ensure their total moral and intellectual development.
- Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives that promote the mission and vision of the university.
- Must possess a PhD in Microbiology or a closely related discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- Must have served as a Lecturer II for at least two (2) years prior to this application.
- Must possess a minimum of seven (7) academic publications in peer-reviewed journals.
