About the Role

Fountain University, established in January 2008 by the Nasrul-Lahi-Il-Fatih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT), is dedicated to the total development of students through high academic standards and sound Islamic moral values. We are currently seeking a dynamic and qualified individual to join our esteemed Department of Chemical Sciences as a Lecturer I in Chemistry. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the minds of future leaders while contributing to cutting-edge research and community development in a serene, values-driven academic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Chemistry in accordance with university curriculum standards.
  • Design, supervise, and evaluate student laboratory practicals and research projects.
  • Conduct high-quality, impactful research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed academic journals.
  • Mentor and advise students on academic progression, career choices, and moral development.
  • Participate in department and university committee meetings, accreditation exercises, and community service initiatives.
  • Set, invigilate, and grade examinations, tests, and quizzes accurately and fairly.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemistry from a recognized and accredited university.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of active teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
  • Must have served as a Lecturer II for at least two (2) years.
  • A strong academic portfolio comprising a minimum of seven (7) scholarly publications in reputable journals.
  • Demonstrated commitment to upholding Islamic moral and ethical values alongside academic excellence.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
