About the Role

We are currently seeking a dynamic and qualified professional to fill the position of Lecturer II within the Department of Human Kinetics and Sports Science, under the Faculty of Education. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an academic committed to excellence in teaching, student mentorship, and impactful research within the field of sports science.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training sessions in Human Kinetics and Sports Science to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop and update course curricula in alignment with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards and modern pedagogical trends.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, dissertations, and student fieldwork.
- Conduct high-level academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, contributing to the academic and administrative growth of the institution.
- Mentor students and provide academic advising to foster their professional and personal development.
- A First Degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division in Human Kinetics, Sports Science, or a closely related field.
- Alternatively, a Second-Class Lower Division First Degree combined with a completed PhD.
- Possession of a PhD or a Master's degree in Human Kinetics and Sports Science.
- Minimum of three (3) years of teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- A proven track record of at least three (3) peer-reviewed academic publications.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
