We are currently recruiting a Lecturer II in Histopathology and Cytology within the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Science at our campus in Benin City, Edo State. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the next generation of medical laboratory scientists by delivering high-quality instruction, conducting impactful research, and contributing to the holistic development of our students in a supportive and technologically driven academic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, practical laboratory sessions, and tutorials in Histopathology and Cytology to undergraduate students.
- Develop and update curriculum materials, course outlines, and instructional resources in line with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, student laboratory work, and clinical postings.
- Conduct high-quality, independent and collaborative research leading to publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings, student mentoring, and academic advising.
- Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives as assigned by the Head of Department.
- Must possess a PhD in Histopathology, Cytology, or a closely relevant discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- At least two (2) years of cognate university teaching or research experience.
- Demonstrated evidence of scholarly potential, continuing research, and relevant academic publications.
- Current professional registration and a valid practising license with the relevant professional regulatory body.
- Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for modern e-learning and pedagogical delivery.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills suited for an academic environment.
