About the Role

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering high-quality instruction, mentoring students, and advancing economic research within a vibrant academic community dedicated to national and global development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and tutorials for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Economics.
  • Design, update, and evaluate course curricula in line with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards and modern economic trends.
  • Conduct high-impact academic research and publish findings in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Supervise undergraduate student research projects, essays, and academic dissertations.
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings, administrative duties, and community service initiatives.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students to support their holistic development and career readiness.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a First Degree in Economics or a related discipline with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division. Candidates with a Second-Class Lower Division must hold a PhD.
  • A PhD or Master Degree in Economics.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
  • At least three (3) peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills with a passion for teaching and academic mentorship.
