About the Role
Vision University, a newly established, private, faith-based institution in Ikogbo Town, Ogun State, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated professional to join our academic team as a Lecturer II in Criminology and Security Studies. Licensed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in 2023 and mentored by Lagos State University (LASU), we are committed to delivering exceptional academic standards and shaping the future of our students through rigorous teaching, innovative research, and robust mentorship.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and tutorials in Criminology and Security Studies to undergraduate students.
- Develop and update course curricula, teaching materials, and assessment methods in line with NUC guidelines.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, dissertations, and student academic field activities.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties.
- Mentor and advise students on academic progression, career development, and personal conduct in alignment with the university's core values.
- Candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree in Criminology, Security Studies, or a closely related discipline from a reputable university.
- Applicants holding a Master's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification full-time teaching experience in a tertiary institution are also eligible to apply.
- Strong evidence of academic publications in peer-reviewed journals will be a distinct and added advantage.
