About the Role
Wellspring University, a prestigious institution founded on Christian ethics and principles, is seeking a qualified and dynamic academic professional to join our vibrant academic community. We are currently recruiting a Lecturer II in Clinical Chemistry to contribute to our esteemed Faculty of Medical Laboratory Science at our campus in Benin City, Edo State. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the minds of future healthcare leaders by delivering exceptional instruction, conducting impactful research, and upholding our high standards of academic and moral excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Clinical Chemistry to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop and update curriculum materials, course outlines, and instructional resources in line with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, laboratory practicals, and student internships.
- Engage in continuous academic research, publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to the university's research profile.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, administrative duties, and community service initiatives.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students to foster their intellectual and moral growth.
- Must possess a PhD in Clinical Chemistry or a closely related relevant discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- At least two (2) years of cognate university teaching or research experience.
- Demonstrated evidence of scholarly potential, continuing research, and relevant academic publications in reputable journals.
- Must possess current professional registration and a valid practising license with the relevant regulatory body.
- Proficiency in ICT-enabled teaching methods and modern learning management systems.
