The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a qualified and dynamic academic professional to join our esteemed Department of Civil Engineering as a Lecturer II. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions in various core areas of Civil Engineering.
- Develop and update course curriculum, teaching materials, and assessment methods in alignment with NUC guidelines and industry standards.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, research dissertations, and academic field training.
- Conduct high-level academic research, publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals, and actively seek research grants.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students within the department.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, administrative duties, and community service initiatives.
- Possess a First Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of a Second Class Upper Division, OR a Second Class Lower Division coupled with a relevant PhD.
- Hold a PhD or a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized and accredited university.
- Candidates with a Master's degree must have at least three (3) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) quality peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
- Demonstrated proficiency in modern civil engineering software, instructional technologies, and blended learning methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a passion for academic mentorship.
