Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions in various core areas of Civil Engineering.
  • Develop and update course curriculum, teaching materials, and assessment methods in alignment with NUC guidelines and industry standards.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, research dissertations, and academic field training.
  • Conduct high-level academic research, publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals, and actively seek research grants.
  • Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students within the department.
  • Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, administrative duties, and community service initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Possess a First Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of a Second Class Upper Division, OR a Second Class Lower Division coupled with a relevant PhD.
  • Hold a PhD or a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized and accredited university.
  • Candidates with a Master's degree must have at least three (3) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
  • Must have a minimum of three (3) quality peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in modern civil engineering software, instructional technologies, and blended learning methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a passion for academic mentorship.
