About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a premier federal university founded in 1970, is seeking a dedicated and qualified academic professional to join our Department of Management Science as a Lecturer I in Finance. In this role, you will contribute to our rich academic tradition by delivering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate instruction, conducting impactful research, and mentoring students to achieve their full potential in the financial sector.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and tutorials in undergraduate and postgraduate Finance courses.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable academic journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, and university committee assignments.
- Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives within the Faculty of Management Sciences.
- Assess student performance through examinations, continuous assessments, and constructive feedback.
- Possession of a PhD or a Master's degree in Finance or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of three (3) years of active teaching and research experience at the tertiary education level.
- A strong publication record with a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed journal articles.
- A First Degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, OR a Second-Class Lower Division combined with a completed PhD.
