About the Role
The Federal University Lafia is seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional to join our esteemed academic community as a Lecturer II in the Department of Agronomy. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality university education and fostering cutting-edge research. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering engaging undergraduate and postgraduate instruction, mentoring students, and contributing to the vibrant intellectual environment of our Nasarawa State campus.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory or field sessions in agronomy and related agricultural sciences.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and academic field placements.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in peer-reviewed, reputable national and international journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties.
- Contribute to curriculum development, course design, and the continuous improvement of academic programmes within the faculty.
- Engage in community service initiatives and agricultural outreach programmes that promote regional and national food security.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Agronomy or a closely related relevant field from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Alternatively, candidates with a Master's degree plus at least two (2) journal publications and a minimum of three (3) years of post-qualification teaching and research experience at the university level will be considered.
