About the Role
Federal University Lafia invites dynamic and qualified academics to apply for the position of Lecturer I in our growing Department of Social Work. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality university education and fostering impactful research within Nasarawa State and across Nigeria. As a Lecturer I, you will play a pivotal role in delivering engaging instruction, mentoring students, and advancing the academic standing of our Faculty.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Social Work and related disciplines.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and fieldwork placements.
- Conduct high-level academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties.
- Contribute to curriculum development, course evaluation, and innovative teaching methodologies.
- Engage in community service initiatives and professional outreach programs aligned with social work values.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Social Work or a closely relevant field from a recognized institution, with at least three (3) years of tertiary teaching experience and two (2) published journal articles.
- Alternatively, a Ph.D. with relevant professional registration and two (2) published journal articles will be considered.
- Candidates with a Master's degree must have a minimum of six (6) years of teaching experience and five (5) journal articles, with at least three (3) currently published.
