Federal University Lafia, a vibrant and rapidly expanding institution established in 2011, is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our academic community as a Lecturer I in the Department of Library and Information Science. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Library and Information Science.
- Develop, review, and update curriculum materials and course outlines in line with current global academic and professional standards.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and academic fieldworks.
- Conduct high-level academic research and publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed national and international journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, meetings, and academic administration tasks.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students to support their overall holistic development.
- Engage in community outreach programmes and professional associations relevant to library and information science.
- Ph.D. degree in Library and Information Science or a closely related field from a recognized institution, plus at least three (3) years of university teaching experience and a minimum of two (2) journal publications.
- Alternatively, a Ph.D. degree with relevant professional registration, complemented by at least two (2) published journal articles.
- Candidates with a Master's degree in a relevant field must possess a minimum of six (6) years of teaching experience and at least five (5) journal articles, with a minimum of three (3) successfully published.
- Demonstrated proficiency in modern information management systems, digital libraries, and academic research methodologies.
