The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a premier federal university committed to academic excellence and groundbreaking research, is seeking a qualified and dedicated Lecturer I to join the Department of Veterinary Medicine within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced academic and researcher to contribute to the training of the next generation of veterinary professionals in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions, and tutorials in Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and clinical training.
- Conduct high-impact academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and academic committee work.
- Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives aligned with the university goals.
- Mentor students and provide academic guidance to support their holistic professional development.
- Possession of a PhD or a Master's degree in Veterinary Physiology, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years of tertiary teaching and research experience.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed academic publications in reputable journals.
- Must possess a First Degree in a relevant field with not below a Second-Class Upper Division, OR a Second-Class Lower Division with a PhD.
- Demonstrated proficiency in modern pedagogical methods and academic research tools.
