About the Role
Federal University Lafia invites dynamic and qualified academic professionals to apply for the position of Lecturer I in Veterinary Microbiology. Established in 2011, our institution is dedicated to academic excellence, innovative research, and expanding access to quality higher education in Nigeria. As a Lecturer I, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional academic instruction, conducting impactful research, and mentoring the next generation of veterinary professionals within our vibrant campus environment in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions in Veterinary Microbiology to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop and update curriculum materials, course outlines, and instructional resources aligned with national and international standards.
- Conduct high-quality research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international academic journals.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and academic field placements.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, meetings, and academic community service.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students to support their professional and personal development.
- Possession of a Ph.D. degree in Veterinary Microbiology or a closely related relevant field from a recognized institution, plus at least three (3) years of tertiary teaching experience and a minimum of two (2) published journal articles.
- Alternatively, candidates with a Ph.D. and valid professional registration, accompanied by at least two (2) published journal articles, will be considered.
- Candidates holding a Master's degree must have a minimum of six (6) years of teaching experience and at least five (5) journal articles, with a minimum of three (3) successfully published.
- Demonstrated proficiency in academic research, grant writing, and effective classroom management.
