The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal university founded in 1970, is seeking a qualified and passionate academic professional to fill the position of Lecturer I in Veterinary Biochemistry within the Department of Veterinary Medicine. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Veterinary Biochemistry.
- Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and academic field training.
- Conduct high-quality research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, and faculty committees as assigned.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students to foster their holistic professional development.
- Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives on behalf of the university.
- Possession of a PhD or a Master's degree in Veterinary Biochemistry or a closely related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of teaching and research experience at the tertiary level.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
- Must possess a first degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division; or a Second-Class Lower Division with a PhD.
- Demonstrated ability to attract research grants and collaborate across academic disciplines is an added advantage.
