About the Role
Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Nigeria's premier higher institution, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lecturer I in Surveying and Geoinformatics within the School of Environmental Studies. Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Lecturer I, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and practical competencies of our students. Key duties include:
- Delivering engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Surveying and Geoinformatics for ND, HND, and degree-equivalent students.
- Conducting impactful academic and applied research in the field of geoinformatics and environmental studies.
- Supervising undergraduate student projects, field works, and research dissertations.
- Participating in curriculum development, departmental meetings, and institutional committees.
- Contributing to peer-reviewed journals, academic conferences, and textbook publications as required for career progression.
Applicants must meet one of the following academic and professional criteria:
- Doctorate degree in Surveying and Geoinformatics or a relevant discipline, with at least 3 years of teaching, research, or industrial experience, plus required publications (3 conference papers, 3 journal articles, and 1 textbook chapter within the last 4 years).
- Master's degree in the relevant discipline, with at least 6 years of teaching, research, or industrial experience, plus required publications.
- Current Lecturer II staff with at least 3 years of satisfactory service in the role, alongside the specified publication requirements.
