About the Role
Thomas Adewumi University (TAU), located in Oko Irese, Kwara State, is a prestigious institution dedicated to providing qualitative and transformative higher education. As a logical progression of our commitment to academic excellence from primary to tertiary levels, we are expanding our Faculty of Law. We are currently seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and accomplished academic to join our team as a Lecturer I in Private and Commercial Law. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering engaging instruction, mentoring aspiring lawyers, and contributing to cutting-edge legal research within a supportive and rapidly growing academic community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive, high-quality undergraduate lectures, seminars, and tutorials in Private and Commercial Law.
- Design, update, and review course curriculum to align with modern legal standards and industry trends.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, dissertations, and student internships.
- Conduct impactful academic research and publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed, reputable national and international journals.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, university committees, and community engagement initiatives.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to law students to foster their holistic professional development.
- Possession of a Ph.D. in Law with a specialization in Private & Commercial Law from a recognized and accredited university.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of active teaching, examining, and research experience at the university level.
- Demonstrated evidence of strong research potential supported by publications in reputable academic journals.
- Active participation in university community activities and recognized professional legal bodies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and student-mentorship skills.
