The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a qualified and dynamic academic professional to fill the position of Lecturer I in the Department of Life Sciences (Environmental Management & Toxicology). Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Environmental Management & Toxicology.
- Develop and update course curricula in line with national educational standards and emerging global environmental trends.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conduct cutting-edge research, publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals, and secure research grants.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties as assigned.
- Engage in community outreach programs and provide consultancy services related to environmental management.
- Possess a PhD or a Master's degree in Environmental Management, Toxicology, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of teaching and research experience at the university level.
- Must have a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed academic publications in reputable journals.
- Must possess a first degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division with a PhD.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor students and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary academic teams.
