About the Role

We are currently seeking a qualified and passionate academic professional to join our Department of Arts as a Lecturer I in Philosophy. In this role, you will contribute to our rich intellectual community by delivering engaging lectures, supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, and advancing philosophical scholarship through impactful research and publications.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in various branches of Philosophy.
- Develop and update curriculum content in line with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards and global best practices.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects and mentor students academically and professionally.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in reputable, peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties.
- Engage in community service initiatives and academic outreach programs representing the university.
- A First Degree in Philosophy with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division with a PhD.
- Possession of a PhD or a Master's degree in Philosophy.
- Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience at the tertiary education level.
- A minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed academic publications in recognized journals.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire students and foster critical thinking within an academic environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
