About the Role
Federal University Lafia, established in February 2011, is dedicated to expanding access to top-tier university education in Nigeria. Located in the heart of Nasarawa State, our rapidly growing institution boasts a vibrant academic community comprising a College of Medicine, multiple specialized schools, and numerous undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Lecturer I to join our esteemed Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Pharmacology and Toxicology.
- Design, update, and evaluate curriculum materials to ensure alignment with national educational standards and industry best practices.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
- Conduct high-level academic research and publish findings in reputable, peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university committee meetings as well as community service initiatives.
- Mentor and advise students on academic progression, career development, and professional ethics.
- Possess a Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology or a closely relevant field from a recognized institution, plus a minimum of three (3) years of tertiary teaching experience and at least two (2) published journal articles.
- Alternatively, hold a Ph.D. with relevant professional registration plus two (2) published journal articles.
- Candidates with a Master's degree must have at least six (6) years of teaching experience and five (5) journal articles, with a minimum of three (3) successfully published.
