About the Role

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering high-quality education, conducting cutting-edge research in medicinal plants and natural products, and mentoring the next generation of pharmacists in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical laboratory sessions in Pharmacognosy to undergraduate and postgraduate pharmacy students.
  • Develop and update curriculum content in alignment with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards and global best practices.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
  • Conduct impactful, peer-reviewed research in the field of pharmacognosy and herbal medicine, contributing to the university's academic standing.
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, administrative duties, and community service initiatives.
  • Secure research grants and foster collaborations with industry partners and international academic institutions.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a PhD or a Master's degree in Pharmacognosy or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant teaching and research experience at the university level.
  • A strong track record of at least three (3) peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
  • A mandatory First Degree (Bachelor's) with not below a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division accompanied by a PhD.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor students and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary academic team.
