Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and practical sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students
  • Conduct original research and publish findings in reputable academic journals
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and dissertations
  • Participate in curriculum development, review, and academic quality assurance processes
  • Provide academic mentorship and guidance to students
  • Engage in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative and committee duties
  • Contribute to community service and professional development activities within the field of nursing
  • Stay abreast of current trends, technologies, and best practices in nursing education and clinical care

Qualifications
  • A PhD in Nursing Science from a recognised institution
  • Minimum of three (3) years of post-PhD experience in teaching, research, and related academic work
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) and a valid practising licence
  • Evidence of completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or a valid Certificate of Exemption/Exclusion, where applicable
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students effectively
  • Strong research output with evidence of publications in reputable journals
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • Commitment to academic integrity and the values of clarity, capacity, and civility
