In this vital academic role, you will shape the next generation of healthcare professionals by delivering exceptional instruction in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing, conducting high-impact research, and mentoring students to achieve both intellectual and moral excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing at the undergraduate level.
- Supervise undergraduate student research projects, clinical placements, and academic development.
- Conduct cutting-edge research in nursing science and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental meetings, and faculty committees to enhance academic standards.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, fostering their moral and professional growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues on community outreach and healthcare initiatives promoted by the university.
- Possess a PhD in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing or a closely related relevant discipline from a recognized university.
- Minimum of three (3) years of cognate university teaching and research experience.
- Demonstrated evidence of continuing research, relevant academic publications, and competence in student supervision.
- Current professional registration and a valid practicing licence with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
- Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for modern digital teaching and learning management systems.
