About the Role
Wellspring University invites applications from suitably qualified and motivated academic professionals for the position of Lecturer I in Medical-Surgical Nursing within our esteemed Faculty of Nursing Science. As a Lecturer I, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education, mentoring future healthcare leaders, and contributing significantly to our vibrant academic and research community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging, evidence-based lectures and practical instruction in Medical-Surgical Nursing to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop, update, and review curriculum content in alignment with NUC guidelines and current global healthcare standards.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, clinical rotations, and student field placements.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, academic advising, and administrative duties.
- Maintain current clinical competencies and foster strong linkages with healthcare facilities for student practical training.
- Must possess a PhD in Nursing Science or a closely related relevant discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- Minimum of three (3) years of cognate university teaching, research, and administrative experience.
- Demonstrated evidence of continuing research productivity and relevant academic publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Proven competence in effective teaching, curriculum delivery, and student supervision.
- Must possess current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) along with a valid practicing license.
- Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for modern e-learning and academic administration.
