Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Lecturer I, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of future healthcare and laboratory professionals through comprehensive teaching, research, and community service.
- Deliver engaging lectures, practical laboratory sessions, and tutorials for undergraduate students in Medical Laboratory Science.
- Develop, update, and review curriculum content to align with current industry standards and accreditation requirements.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects, dissertations, and mandatory student internships or practical postings.
- Conduct high-level academic research and contribute to the university's publication output in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university committee meetings, as well as academic administrative duties.
- Engage in community outreach programs and forge strategic partnerships with healthcare institutions and professional bodies.
Candidates applying for this academic position must meet the following rigorous standards:
- Possession of a PhD in Medical Laboratory Science or a closely related relevant field from a recognized and accredited university.
- Demonstrated academic progression with a minimum of 2 years of teaching or research experience equivalent to academic expectations.
- A robust research portfolio comprising at least 25 peer-reviewed journal publications in reputable outlets, with a minimum of 5 publications indexed in Scopus or Web of Science.
- Mandatory possession of a valid NYSC discharge certificate or an official exemption certificate.
- Active membership in relevant professional bodies such as the Council of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- Proven ICT proficiency with demonstrable competence in digital learning management systems and virtual teaching tools.
