About the Role
Federal University Lafia, a fast-growing institution committed to academic excellence and national development, is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Lecturer I in Mathematics to join our esteemed faculty. Established in 2011, our university provides a vibrant intellectual community in Lafia, Nasarawa State, offering robust undergraduate and postgraduate programs designed to shape the future of higher education in Nigeria. As a Lecturer I, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional instruction, conducting impactful research, and mentoring the next generation of mathematical scientists.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate mathematics students.
- Develop and update curriculum materials, course outlines, and innovative teaching methods.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
- Conduct high-level academic research and publish findings in reputable, peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, administrative duties, and community service initiatives.
- Assess student performance through continuous evaluations, examinations, and constructive feedback.
- Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or a highly relevant field from a recognized institution, plus at least three (3) years of university teaching experience and a minimum of two (2) published journal articles.
- Alternatively, a Ph.D. with relevant professional registration and two (2) published journal articles.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree in Mathematics with a minimum of six (6) years of university teaching experience and at least five (5) journal articles, three (3) of which must be published.
