About the Role
Mewar International University (MIU) Nigeria, the first Indian university established on the African continent, is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Lecturer I in Mass Communication to join our esteemed faculty. Located on our sprawling campus in Masaka, Nasarawa State along the Abuja-FCT corridor, MIU is fully approved by the Federal Executive Council and accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC). Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical training in undergraduate and postgraduate Mass Communication courses.
- Develop and update course curricula, syllabi, and teaching materials in alignment with NUC guidelines and industry standards.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate student research projects, dissertations, and academic fieldworks.
- Conduct high-impact academic research and publish scholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative tasks.
- Mentor and advise students on academic performance, career paths, and professional development.
- Contribute to community service initiatives and institutional accreditation exercises.
- Must possess a Ph.D. in Mass Communication or a closely related discipline from a recognized and accredited university.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of verifiable teaching and research experience in a recognized tertiary institution.
- Must have at least 5 credible scholarly publications in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Demonstrated proficiency in modern digital media tools, broadcasting, or journalism practices is an added advantage.
