We are currently seeking a dynamic and qualified professional to join our academic community as a Lecturer I in the Department of Library and Information Science. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping the minds of future information professionals through innovative teaching, rigorous research, and active participation in university service.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical sessions in Library and Information Science to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop and update curriculum materials, course outlines, and instructional resources in line with modern academic standards.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and academic field placements.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students to foster their total development.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university committee meetings as well as community service initiatives.
- Must possess a PhD degree in Library and Information Science or a closely related academic discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years of active teaching and research experience in a recognized tertiary institution.
- Must have served as a Lecturer II for a minimum of two (2) years prior to this application.
- A strong publication record with a minimum of seven (7) peer-reviewed academic publications in reputable journals.
