About the Role

Fountain University, established by NASFAT in 2008, is dedicated to the total development of students through academic excellence and sound moral values. We are currently seeking a dynamic and scholarly Lecturer I to join our esteemed Department of History and International Studies. In this academic role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the minds of future leaders, contributing to our vibrant intellectual community, and advancing our mission as a pace-setting institution for learning and character-building in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and tutorials in History and International Studies at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and theses.
  • Conduct high-impact academic research and publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participate in curriculum development, review, and continuous improvement of departmental programs.
  • Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
  • Contribute to departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, as well as community service initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a PhD in History, International Studies, or a closely related field from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution.
  • Must have served as a Lecturer II for at least two (2) years.
  • A strong publication record with a minimum of seven (7) scholarly publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Demonstrated commitment to academic integrity and Islamic moral and ethical values.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
