About the Role

The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a premier federal university founded in 1970, is seeking a dedicated and academically driven professional to join our esteemed faculty as a Lecturer I in Insurance within the Department of Management Science. In this role, you will contribute to our rich academic tradition by delivering high-quality instruction, conducting impactful research, and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students in the field of insurance and risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and tutorials in insurance and related management science courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Design, update, and develop comprehensive course curricula in alignment with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards.
  • Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
  • Conduct cutting-edge academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative duties.
  • Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a PhD or a Master's degree in Insurance or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant teaching and research experience at the university level.
  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed publications in reputable academic journals.
  • A First Degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division accompanied by a PhD.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and student-mentoring skills.
