About the Role
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a dedicated and accomplished Senior Lecturer in Psychology to join our prestigious Faculty of Social Sciences. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the next generation of psychologists through rigorous teaching, innovative research, and active academic mentorship.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures in Psychology.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects and theses.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish peer-reviewed articles in reputable journals.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental academic planning.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees and administrative duties.
- Mentor junior academic staff and foster a collaborative learning environment.
- Possess a PhD in Psychology or a closely related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years of active teaching and research experience at the university level.
- Must have a minimum of 8 quality peer-reviewed academic publications.
- A First Degree with not below a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division accompanied by a PhD.
- Demonstrated ability to secure research grants and collaborate internationally is an advantage.
