The University of Benin (UNIBEN), a prestigious federal institution founded in 1970, invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academics for the position of Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Law, specializing in Commercial and Industrial Law. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate lectures, seminars, and tutorials in Commercial and Industrial Law and related legal subjects.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and curriculum in alignment with university standards and NUC guidelines.
- Conduct high-quality academic research and publish findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international law journals.
- Supervise undergraduate student research projects, essays, and academic dissertations.
- Participate actively in department, faculty, and university-wide committees, meetings, and academic events.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to law students.
- Possess a First Degree in Law (LLB) with not below a Second-Class Upper Division, or a Second-Class Lower Division with a completed PhD.
- Hold a Master's Degree (LLM) in Law with a strong academic record.
- Must have an ongoing PhD in Commercial and Industrial Law or a closely related field.
- Demonstrate clear evidence of teaching capability and strong research potential or prior academic experience.
