About the Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced academic to join our vibrant academic community as a Lecturer I in the Department of Nursing Science within the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals through rigorous teaching, hands-on clinical training, and impactful research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students.
  • Develop and update curriculum content in line with National Universities Commission (NUC) and Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) standards.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and clinical placements.
  • Conduct high-quality research and publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
  • Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties, committees, and community engagement initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a relevant Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Nursing Science from a recognized and accredited university (a Ph.D. in the discipline is strongly preferred for Lecturer I).
  • Current registration and a valid practising licence with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
  • Demonstrated teaching, research, clinical, and administrative experience commensurate with the Lecturer I rank.
  • Proven track record of scholarly publications in reputable peer-reviewed academic journals.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment.
