About the Role
Margaret Lawrence University (MLU) is a prestigious private institution committed to academic excellence, innovative research, and producing world-class healthcare professionals. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced academic to join our vibrant academic community as a Lecturer I in the Department of Nursing Science within the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals through rigorous teaching, hands-on clinical training, and impactful research.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and practical laboratory sessions for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students.
- Develop and update curriculum content in line with National Universities Commission (NUC) and Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) standards.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, dissertations, and clinical placements.
- Conduct high-quality research and publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Provide academic advising, mentorship, and career guidance to students.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties, committees, and community engagement initiatives.
- Possession of a relevant Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Nursing Science from a recognized and accredited university (a Ph.D. in the discipline is strongly preferred for Lecturer I).
- Current registration and a valid practising licence with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
- Demonstrated teaching, research, clinical, and administrative experience commensurate with the Lecturer I rank.
- Proven track record of scholarly publications in reputable peer-reviewed academic journals.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment.
