About the Role
Mastercard is seeking a dynamic and strategic Lead, Pandemic Sciences to drive the successful implementation of key Health Collaboratives across Africa. In this vital role, you will build and steward high-quality partnerships, advance youth-centred health programming, and support health workforce initiatives to strengthen public health infrastructure across the region.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the design and implementation of the Higher Education Pandemic Sciences Collaborative and co-create proposals with prospective partners.
- Advise and accompany partners on implementation, progress tracking, and learning to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Organize partner meetings, plan face-to-face convenings, and integrate insights into program adaptations.
- Cultivate stakeholder relationships, support participant safeguarding, and lead the day-to-day implementation of Health Workforce portfolios.
- Provide technical expertise on health workforce models, supervision systems, and workforce retention strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, public policy, international development, or social sciences; a Master's degree is a strong asset.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, including managing multiple projects in fast-paced environments.
- Proven experience engaging with higher education institutions, civil society, government, the private sector, and young people in Africa.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering health, science, or leadership development programs for youth.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills, with full professional fluency in English.
