About the Role

We are currently looking for a dynamic and seasoned Lead Instrumentation Design Engineer to join our expanding technical team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will oversee and direct comprehensive instrumentation engineering designs, ensuring that all projects meet rigorous industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. You will lead a talented team of engineers, driving innovation and excellence across our diverse portfolio of offshore and onshore operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the instrumentation and control engineering design activities for major oil, gas, and maritime projects from concept through to commissioning.
  • Supervise, mentor, and guide a multidisciplinary team of junior and mid-level instrumentation engineers and designers.
  • Develop and review technical documentation, including P&IDs, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, cause and effect matrices, and control system architectures.
  • Ensure all engineering designs comply with relevant international codes, standards, and Nigerian regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure alignment on project deliverables and timelines.
  • Participate in technical bid evaluations, vendor drawing reviews, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for instrumentation packages.
  • Provide expert technical support during installation, site integration testing, and startup phases.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 13 years of demonstrable instrumentation design experience within the oil, gas, petrochemical, or energy sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of international design codes and standards such as IEC, ISA, API, and ASME.
  • Proven track record in leadership, project coordination, and managing complex multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and proficiency in modern instrumentation design software.
